Clinical evidence
Preclinical studies, including numerous in vitro and animal models, show strong evidence for the anti-urolithic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties of Bergenia ciliata. However, comprehensive human clinical trials specifically on Bergenia ciliata as a standalone therapy are limited. Most human research involves polyherbal formulations containing Bergenia species, making direct attribution of effects solely to Bergenia ciliata difficult. While promising, further dedicated clinical trials are needed to confirm these benefits and establish standardized dosages and efficacy in human populations.
