Clinical evidence
Pre-clinical studies (in vitro and in vivo animal models) consistently demonstrate significant anti-urolithiatic, diuretic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant activities of Pashanabheda (Saxifraga ligulata). These studies show its efficacy in preventing and dissolving experimentally induced calcium oxalate kidney stones by inhibiting crystal formation and aggregation, increasing diuresis, and protecting renal tubules. While specific large-scale human Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) on *Saxifraga ligulata* as a monotherapy are limited, it is a key ingredient in polyherbal Ayurvedic formulations that have demonstrated efficacy in human trials for urolithiasis.
