Patha (Patha (Rajapatha, Rajpatha, Paataala beru))
Patha (Rajapatha) is a classical Menispermaceae dravya used widely in Kwatha and Churna formulations. In southern India, Cyclea peltata (Lam.) Hook.f. & Thomson is the accepted botanical source of Rajapatha, distinct from Laghupatha (Cissampelos pareira, slug `ambashta`). Charaka and Sushruta cite Patha for jwara, atisara, shoola, kandu, and visha. Root is the classical part used.
