PariBhadra (PariBhadra (Nimba Taru, Mandara, Parijatka))
PariBhadra, known as Erythrina variegata, is a medicinal plant utilized in Ayurveda for its therapeutic benefits. It is traditionally used to alleviate vata, kapha, swelling, fat, and worms. Modern research is exploring its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties.

Preparation methods
- Decoction (Kashaya): Add 1 tablespoon of PariBhadra powder to 2 cups of water, boil it down to 1 cup, and then filter.
- Earache Remedy: Soak fresh or dry bark in water overnight, then distill using a pressure cooker. Use the distillate as ear drops (3-4 drops, twice daily).
- Hot Infusion: Prepare a hot infusion of the flowers for washing the external ear in cases of furunculosis.
- Paste: The bark or leaves can be made into a paste for skin treatments.
Contraindications
- Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: PariBhadra is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women due to its sedative effects.
- General Cautions: Use PariBhadra appropriately and under the guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner to ensure proper dosage and effectiveness. Overuse can lead to excessive sedation and hypotension. Large quantities may cause dizziness or gastrointestinal discomfort in rare cases.
- Tooth ailments: It should not be given for gum or tooth ailments and that using it as a dant kashtha is prohibited. It is not recommended to use this tree's twig as a toothbrush.

Interactions
