Kulattha is a classical Shimbi Dhanya (legume) dravya. Botanically Macrotyloma uniflorum (Lam.) Verdc. (Fabaceae); Dolichos biflorus is a widely used synonym. Charaka classifies it under Shimbi dhanya with Ashmarighna, Shothahara, and Lekhana properties. Used in yusha, supa, and therapeutic food preparations.
