Clinical evidence

Clinical trials show that *Cyperus rotundus* extract may help with weight loss and hair removal. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial (96 obese participants) found that 500 mg of *Cyperus rotundus* extract plus 5 mg piperine daily for 90 days, combined with diet and exercise, resulted in significantly more weight loss and improved cholesterol levels compared to diet and exercise alone. Further studies support its use as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-diabetic agent.
