Bael (Bilva (Aegle marmelos))

Side effects
- Bael might lower blood sugar levels. Monitor blood sugar carefully if you have diabetes or are taking medications to lower blood sugar. Stop using bael at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery due to concerns about interference with blood sugar control.
Interactions
- Antidiabetes drugs: Bael might decrease blood sugar levels, potentially causing hypoglycemia when taken with diabetes medications.
- Cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) substrates: Bael might decrease how quickly the liver breaks down some medications, increasing their effects and side effects.
- Cholinergic drugs: Bael might increase certain chemicals in the brain, heart, and elsewhere in the body. Taking bael with these medications might increase the chance of side effects.
